Resources on computer-assisted qualitative data analysis software (CAQDAS)

The Methodology Group @ UNM supports both qualitative and quantitative methods. We have developed this quick introduction to assist researchers in finding the best computer-assisted qualitative data analysis software (CAQDAS) for their needs. At the Methods Group, we currently have Atlas-ti and NVivo on our computers; the COE Technology and Education Center (TEC) has Atlas-ti version 5.2 in lab 180 on the first floor. The renovated Zimmerman Library graduate student commons is scheduled to have NVivo on its computers as well.

There are many online resources to help you choose a CAQDAS that is right for you and your research. Below we provide links from several universities on three general topics: what to think about as you choose a CAQDAS program, comparison graphs of leading CAQDAS programs, and the websites of three of the most popular CAQDAS programs.
